    Querim Beach

    This disconnected beach draws in less guests, and in this manner less hawkers than most Goa shorelines. Dotted with historical structures, this beach is found quite recently north of Arambol beach which is popular among the hippies and Russians.

    Arambol Beach

    Arambol beach is a charming beach in North Goa, relatively untouched by tourists. It has a small fresh water lake close to the sea and is surrounded by beautiful coconut trees covering the hillocks. It is a great location for paragliding and enjoying sunsets. There are a lot of shacks on the beach, serving a variety of food and drinks and some even offer wifi.

    Mandrem Beach

    Mandrem beach is one of the white sand beaches of North Goa, about 20 KMs from Calangute. One of the few islolated beaches of North Goa, Mandrem beach is lovely beach with clean white sand. If you walk on this beach, after a few kms you'll reach Arambol beach. There are a few restaurants and shacks on the beach, and it is not very crowded, all of it makes for a comfortable and relaxing holiday in Goa. Best time on the beach is early mornings or late evening during sun set.

    Ashwem Beach

    More and more tourists of Goa are seeking out quieter, cleaner beaches and are chosing to avoid going to the noisy Baga and Calangute beaches. Ashwen beach is one such beach in North Goa, known for its beauty, great food, proximity to the 'happening' beaches and great beach-facing accommodations.

    Morjim Beach

    Morjim beach in North Goa has a large population of Russian expats and is also known as Little Russia. The famous Olive Ridley sea turtles come to Morjim beach every year for nesting and hatching. It is far from the hustle and bustle of Baga and Calangute, which makes for a quieter getaway for tourists.

    St. Cajetan's Church

    St. Cajetan's Church is a magnificent church in Old Goa was constructed in the style of St. Peter's Basilica of Rome. The altar, sculptures, carvings and the divinity exuded by this church attracts many tourists and devotees. The Se Cathedral is about half a km away from here. Tourists visiting Goa should put this Church on their must-visit list for the photography opportunities, peace and quiet and the slice of history and heritage provided by St. Cajetan's Church.

    Chapora Fort

    Chapora fort is one of the most famous forts in Goa, located on Vagator beach in North Goa overlooking the Arabian Sea at a point where Chapora River meets the sea. Chapora Fort gained huge popularity in recent years because a few scenes from a popular Bollywood movie 'Dil Chahta Hai' were shot here. The fort is located in Bardez and close to Vagator and Morjim beach. It is a very scenic location, surrounded by sea on two sides and Chapora River on one.

    Chapora Beach

    Chapora beach is a clean, relatively quieter beaches in North Goa, about 10 kms from Mapusa. The beach is a small coastal fishing village overlooking the Chapora river and Chapora Fort. Chapora Fort is a picturesque fort, popular with Bollywood film makers. Trek to the fort and take in the beautiful sea and sights of the surroundings. You can see Chapora and Vagator beaches from the Fort.

    Vagator Beach

    North of the rave capital Anjuna beach in North Goa is Vagator beach, about 32 kms from Panjim. It is considered by many as one of the most scenic beaches in Goa surrounded by stunning red cliffs and two fresh water springs. Vagator is split into two beaches – Big Vagator and Small Vagator and Big Vagator is by far the more popular. Small Vagator is also known as Ozran beach and is frequented by a lot of foreign travelers, most notably from Israel and Britain.

    Ozran Beach

    Ozran beach also known as 'Little Vagator Beach' is one of the most picturesque and beautiful beaches of Goa, it is peaceful and calm. The best part of this beach is that one has to climb down a little hill to reach there. Usually visited by foreigners, it’s a fun place to go with friends and family as the beach has few shacks. The best part is the sunset on the beach. Ozran beach has a number of hangouts like, Our Shack, Sunset Bar and Restaurant, etc. One can also head to Anjuna, Morjim, Vagator, Candolim and Chapora Beaches. Other famous sights include Mae De Dues Church, St Michael’s Church, Fort Aguada Lighthouse, Viceroy’s Arch and Sahyadri Spice Farms.

    Anjuna Beach

    Once known to be a part of the hippy circuit, Anjuna beach is considered as the rave capital. World famous trance and rave parties are held on the beaches of Anjuna, attracting tourists from all over to this beach. You'll see people of all kinds in Anjuna – artists, monks, hippies, curious travelers and soul searchers.     Baga Beach

    One of the most popular beaches in Goa, Baga beach s a party-lover's paradise. Lively, vibrant nightlife, shacks serving all kinds of foods to serve every palate and an energy you'll find nowhere else – that's Baga for you. It is usually very crowded and touristy, especially during peak season. Baga is about 50 km from Dabolim airport and is bordered by Calangute beach to the south and Anjuna to the north. Activities include dolphin spotting cruises, watersports, night bazars, and wednesday flea market at nearby Anjuna beach.

    Mae De Deus Church

    Located in Saligao, Bardez, Mae De Deus Church (or Mother of God Church) is a Gothic style church in north Goa. It is a small church, good for spending a couple of quiet hours after exhausting oneself at the beach and the hustle and bustle of north Goa. It is about 13 kms from Panaji, on the way to Mapusa and is also referred to as Saligao Gothic Church. The church is lit up at night and looks charming and mystical.

    Calangute Beach

    Calangute beach is the busiest and most commercialized of all the beaches in Goa. It is teeming with foreigners, backpackers and tourists from all over India. Calangute is in North Goa, about 15 kms from Panaji and is a buzzing place with hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, shacks and shops. Visit the ancient Church of St. Alex, built in 1741, when in Calangute and be sure to check the calender for any festivals, music events, dances and other shows that are happening here.

    Candolim beach is one of the popular beaches of North Goa, known for its vibrant nightlife, warm people, delicious local food and great views of the sea.     Sinquerim Beach

    Sinquerim beach in north Goa is located at a distance of about 15 kms from Panaji. It is one of the quieter beaches of north Goa, a striking contrast to other north Goan beaches. Fort Aguada is located close to the beach and the beach is a great place for swimming, walking along the sandy shores and enjoying the sea in all its glory. There are watersports facilities offered at the beach and the scenery is breathtaking.

    Fort Aguada

    Fort Aguada and its lighthouse have been standing guard to protect Goa since the seventeenth century and is the largest and the best-conserved Portuguese fort in Goa. Aguada fort and its lighthouse is an important landmark in the Goan history. Located around 18km from Panjim, overlooking the Arabian Sea this historic fort has been around since the 16th century. It is located on Sinquerim beach and is a well-preserved archeological monument.

    Church Of Our Lady Of The Immaculate Conception

    Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception is one of the oldest churches in Goa, historians say it was built around the year 1540. The main altar is dedicated to Mary Immaculate and there are two altars that are flanked on each side of the main one. The one on the right is dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary and the one on the left is dedicated to Jesus. The church is considered as a Panjim landmark and is a truly grand church to visit.

    Kalacha Beach

    Kalacha Beach, also called Paliem Beach, remains almost as unspoiled today as it was before tourism changed the Goan coast. Only a couple of charming restaurant huts to one side of the shore show the effects of the last few decades. This area is famous for its picturesque fresh water lagoon and relaxed, bohemian vibe. Music sessions often take place around a camp fire, a great place to meet other travellers. This is an untouched haven, away from the hassle of vendors and large tourists groups.
